EDUkraine Inauguration

Newly-born Belgian association EDUkraine was created in 2008 by European friends of Ukraine to support education and civil society in Ukraine.
The event held in Brussels on 20 May 2008 at the Cultural Centre of Uccle consisted in a conference followed by a cocktail and photo exhibition on the history and work of the Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv) that is EDUkraine's main partner & which was the event's guest of honor.
The first part of the evening was kindly opened by His Excellency M. Yaroslav Koval – Ambassador of Ukraine to the kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Main speakers included Ukrainian Catholic University Rector Dr Borys Gudziak, Ph.D, Prof. Mathijs Lamberigts (Dean of K.U.Leuven Theology faculty), Didier Rance (President of EDUkraine) and Prof. Oleksandr Tcherednichenko (Kyiv University, Higher Education Academy of Ukraine). All conferences were kindly translated by Canadian Ukrainian interpreter to the E.U., Mariya Malenchuk.
In the second part of the evening the 100 guests could enjoy a Ukrainian buffet kindly offered by the Embassy as well as a photo exhibition on the history and work of the Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv) and a little concert performed by Ukrainian students and soloist Iryna Khapko.
